Troubleshooting

Open Settings → Audio and confirm the right input device is selected. If it still doesn’t move, check macOS System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and confirm Gistlist has permission.

System-audio capture needs macOS 14.2 or later. On older macOS, Gistlist records mic only — there’s no fix short of upgrading macOS.

On 14.2+, if you upgraded recently, macOS may not have re-prompted for the new system-audio capability. Quit Gistlist, re-open it, and accept the system-audio permission prompt the first time you record.

Gistlist tries to reduce speaker bleed and drop near-duplicate segments automatically. If a transcript still duplicates both sides, open a bug report with the meeting folder path if you are comfortable sharing it. The Activity page can also help you find the processing job log for that meeting.

You haven’t run setup yet. Open the app and the Setup Wizard launches automatically.

Open Settings → Models and add a key. Or switch your LLM provider to Ollama if you’d rather not use Claude.

If you’ve dismissed an update banner and it returns, it’s because Gistlist re-checks on each launch. Pick Skip this version to suppress the banner for that release. Or open Settings → Other → Updates and disable update checks entirely.

Make sure the Dataview plugin is installed and enabled in Obsidian’s community plugins. Open <data_path>/Dashboard.md once after enabling — Dataview re-renders on file open. If you used the Setup Wizard’s default Obsidian folder, that is usually <vault>/Gistlist/Dashboard.md.
